The Foundation
Our story began in 2010 when the club was founded as Diamond Trust Bank Football Club (DTB FC)in Dar es Salaam. The team was initially formed by employees of Diamond Trust Bank as a recreational activity, competing in local and bank-sponsored tournaments.
These early years laid the foundation for what would become one of Tanzania's most exciting football clubs, building a reputation for competitive football and professional management.
Transformation to Mbarali United
In 2014, a pivotal moment arrived when Highland Estates Limited, a major agricultural company, joined forces with local stakeholders to transform the club into Mbarali United FC.
Highland Estates' involvement brought professional structure, better facilities, and a clear vision to develop a club that could compete at higher levels of Tanzanian football.
The Ihefu FC Era
2016 marked another transformation when Highland Estates Limited acquired Wenda Secondary School Football Club, a Second Division team based in Mbeya Town, and rebranded it as Ihefu FC, named after the Ihefu wetlands in the region.
This strategic move accelerated the club's competitive journey:
- 2016-2017: Competed in Tanzania's Second Division
- 2017-2018: Promoted to the Championship League (First Division)
- 2019-2020: Historic promotion to the NBC Tanzania Premier League
The Ihefu FC years were characterized by steady growth, professionalization of club operations, and building a competitive squad capable of thriving in Tanzania's elite football environment.
Rebirth as Singida Black Stars
January 2024 brought the most significant transformation in our history. Pentagon Safaris & Camps Ltd, a leading tourism and hospitality company, acquired the club with an ambitious vision to create a football powerhouse representing Central Tanzania.
